Posted @withregram • @amommasjoy I woke up this morning and before my feet hit the ground I peeked out the window to see snow.....I’m so glad we did all that hard work last weekend to plant our garden....
❄️ As I grumbled downstairs waiting for the kettle to whistle the sweet Lord reminded me of what He had spoken to me last week while planting that garden. 🤔
Last weekend the words to one of my favorite hymns played over and over again in my head. 🎶 “I come to the garden ALONE while the dew is still in the roses...and He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own....

You know this one yes? Well last weekend the third verse spoke so deeply to me, “I STAY in the garden with Him tho the night around me is falling”

He calls me to come. And He calls me to stay. He speaks Truth over who I am and who’s I am. He is near to me and never leaves me walking alone

But He never tells me life is going to go my way. He never tells me that if I just show up everything will go as I anticipate. He calls me to trust Him, not just in the beautiful and peaceful garden, but also in the snow covered and the “why did I waste my time planting” garden. He calls me to trust Him fully. Even when the night around me is falling apart. 😫
I’m reminded this morning of the rest of the song...”and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.” This garden is about so much more than the physical harvest we hope it will bring. 🌱
This garden is about the seeds planted from our time together as a family
🌱
This garden is about the reminder to come to my Father daily, alone, expectant and listening for His voice. 🌱
This garden is about His plans rather than mine. 🌱
This garden is about discovering joy in the liminal spaces of life - the in between spaces - the spaces of waiting - the spaces of unknown outcomes. It’s a hard place to be, but Jesus spent a lot of time in the garden for a reason. 🌱
Its in these garden spaces where we grow from seedlings to mature plants, tasting and seeing that the Lord is good.
